Antim I

Antim I (Bulgarian: Антим I; 18161 December 1888), born Atanas Mihaylov Chalakov (Bulgarian: Aтанас Михайлов Чалъков), was a Bulgarian education figure and clergyman, and a participant in the Bulgarian liberation and church-independence movement.

Antim I was born in Lozengrad and later studied in the Halki seminary and in Odessa. He graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary in 1856.
