Antiguo Cuscatlan

Antiguo Cuscatlán is a municipality in the La Libertad department of El Salvador. Antiguo Cuscatlán is considered the richest and most urban municipality inside the "Metropolitan Area of San Salvador" as well as in the whole country. It includes the beautiful and big residential area of Santa Elena (where the U.S embassy is) as well as the area of the malls which includes: Multiplaza, La Gran Via,[1][2] Las Cascadas and the Temptation Plaza.

According to the UNDP, Antiguo Cuscatlán has the highest human development in El Salvador of 0.870.

In 2002 males had a median income of $26,562 versus $10,001 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,534.
