Anthropotokos

Anthropotokos, roughly translated, means "mother of man," (from Greek) and was ascribed to Mary the Mother of Jesus by certain Christians around the time of the Nestorian debates. Cyril (representing the orthodox viewpoint) and Nestorius both denied the use of this word. For more information on the Nestorian thoughts, see below.
