Anthrax Island

Anthrax Island may refer to one of two Cold War era sites for biological weapons testing:

  • Gruinard Island, a small Scottish island in the United Kindgom.
  • Vozrozhdeniya Island, an island in the Aral Sea that was used by the Soviet Union for extensive biological weapons testing.
  • Plum Island (New York) Although not known as Anthrax Island, it may get confused with other islands due to its work on anthrax and so is included on this page.
