Anthony Zacchara was a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. In the series, Zacchara is a well-known, manical mob boss from New York City. He is portrayed by Bruce Weitz.

Anthony Zacchara was first introduced to the audience in late August, when it was revealed that he is a client of Trevor Lansing's. Jason Morgan and Sonny Corinthos believe that Zacchara sent Trevor to Port Charles in order to plan a takeover of the Corinthos-Morgan organization. When Jason had Damian Spinelli run a a background check on Zacchara, it was revealed that the crime lord had a reputation of going after his rivals' families. News of this spread fast, and is causing panic among those who are connected to Jason and Sonny.
Only a few weeks later, on September 7, Leticia Juarez - the nanny for Sonny and Carly's sons Michael and Morgan - was found strangled to death in Carly's home. In the moments leading up to Leticia's murder, Trevor made an on screen call to Zacchara, reporting that he had just "taken the first step." Trevor's ominous message may also have been in reference to Jasper Jacks's rental car being rigged with explosives - as Jax was on his way to a meeting with Zacchara, in his brother, Jerry's place. Upon learning of these events, Sonny concluded that Zacchara was sending him a message. Shortly after the murders, Zacchara's son Johnny was introduced when he picked up a hitchhiking Lulu Spencer on his way into Port Charles. Trevor has revealed to Jason that Johnny has a long history of mental instability, which stemmed from him witnessing his mother's death as a child. Trevor also referred to Zacchara and Johnny's close relationship, stating on-air that Anthony "worships Johnny" and that if Jason or Sonny did anything to his son, their families would suffer Leticia's fate.
Zacchara is abusive towards Johnny. He disapproves of Johnny's friendship with Lulu Spencer, to the point of stalking her.
On October 22, 2007, Sonny discovered that Zacchara was as unpredictable as he had been told. Sonny also discovered that Zacchara's mental state has deteriorated to the point that Trevor has been the head of Zacchara's empire for years. Trevor keeps a watchful eye on his son (Johnny), as he is the only thing keeping Zacchara from becoming completely insane. Sonny now fears that if Zacchara gets loose, he will harm Carly and Sonny's children.
Zacchara crashes the Black and White Ball at Wyndemere. He tried to find Lulu Spencer to kill her. He stabbed Ric Lansing and abducted Nadine Crowell because he thought she was Lulu. He has also abducted Maxie Jones. Soon thereafter he tried to choke Nikolas Cassadine with a phone cord, but was scared off by Johnny. He fought with Luke but Luke had a heart attack, so Zacchara left him for dead. Zacchara saw Leyla Mir and thought she was his dead wife, Maria. He made Leyla choose who to shoot, either Patrick Drake or Robin Scorpio. She choose Patrick but when Anthony went to shoot him, Leyla jumped in the way and got shot in the back. Later in the evening, he happened upon Nikolas who was tied up for his own protection, and strangled him again. Nikolas was spared however. Zacchara also confronted Johnny and Lulu. He resolved that Johnny could "have the girl till sun-up, but then she has to die" and left them. Next Zacchara was shot at by Jerry Jacks, whom he pursued, and abducted Kate Howard who was in the room Jerry went into. He is holding her at gunpoint. Sonny came to rescue Kate and Zacchara shot him in the shoulder. Sonny and kate got away. Zacchara then abducted Elizabeth from the ballroom and forced her on a ledge outside. Jason found them there and was forced to drop his gun. Zacchara forced them both to stand on the ledge and said one would be forced to jump off. Liz jumped backwards and kicked Zacchara and Jason had time to get his gun. Zacchara then jumped off the ledge and Jason shot him in the chest/shoulder. Zacchara is now in critical condition at GH and is paralyzed from his neck down. Is has been shown that his condition is improving, since he can now move one of his feet. The murder mystery of Emily Quartermaine is between Zacchara and Nikolas Cassadine who was Emily's fiancee, but has a mental illness and cannot control himself. A while later, Jason went to visit him asking him if he killed Emily. Anthony says no. By the look in Anthony's eyes, Jason could tell he was telling the truth. Later that day when Trevor went to visit him, Zacchara tells Trevor that when he gets out of the hospital he will retake control of the business. When his daughter Claudia Antonia Zacchara comes back from Milan, he is shocked to see her. When Sonny goes to visit, Anthony tells him that the fun is just beginning.
On April 16, 2008, Anthony moved his right arm, showing that he might actually not be paralyzed from the neck down as everyone thinks. Two days later, he sat up in his bed. He has been released from the hospital, and is now more dangerous than ever, especially now that he is sane.
