Torres is of Chamorro, Spanish and Irish descent. He was born in Saipan and moved with his family to Hawaii when he was 12. Torres played football and participated in power-lifting in high school. At the age of 19, he took up jiu jitsu. He is currently a federal corrections officer.

Torres gained exposure as a cast member of the UFC reality show The Ultimate Fighter 2. On the show, he was eliminated by Luke Cummo via a unanimous decision. Professionally, has a record of 5 wins and 1 loss. Torres' first defeat was at UFC 75 in London, England against Jess Liaudin.[1]
