Anthony Stokes (born August 22, 1983 in West Palm Beach, Florida and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina) is a singer, songwriter, actor and activist.

[edit] Early years
Anthony graduated from Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville, where he was student body president and the first Mr. Massey Hill. He also attended E.E. Smith High School and was a member of the "Smith 16" performance troupe. As a high school student, he won the state championship in original oratory and competed in the National Speech and Debate Tournament. He later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, earning degrees in broadcast journalism, dramatic art and nonprofit management.

In 2004, Anthony won the title of Mr. University USA, beating out male college students nationwide. He went on to compete in Seoul, South Korea at the Mister & Miss University International Pageant and finished as a Top 5 finalist and talent winner. The People to People Student Ambassador Program featured Anthony on its website as a distinguished alumnus.
As a musician, Anthony's music has been influenced by artists like Alicia Keys and Ray Charles and he has opened for several artists including Grammy-winner Miri Ben-Ari. According to his website [1], Anthony released his first demo CD ("Prelude") in 2005. The CD received positive reviews and earned him a nod in Billboard's world songwriting awards. He is based in New York and working with producers on his next project.
As an actor, Anthony is currently appearing in the Shakespeare Theatre's production of the Pulitzer-Prize winning play "The Time of Your Life" by William Saroyan. He plays the role of "Wesley," an out-of-work piano player.
His other acting credits include TV-One ("Get the Hook Up"), National Geographic Channel ("Lockdown"), several stage plays (including "Footloose") and taped an ABC pilot ("Corpulent Power") in 2004. He has also starred in national commercials, including Burger King.
