Anthony Power Development

Anthony Power Development - was a scheme for damming small parts of the upper catchment of the Pieman River in Western Tasmania by the Hydro Tasmania as the last dam making scheme (Power Development) before the construction of dams for hydro electricity in Tasmania.

It was developed in two parts - The first development consisted of three dams: Henty Dam, White Spur Dam and Newton Dam.The second development utilised the 300 metre fall of the Anthony River to the Lake Murchison. It was completed in March 1994 and created a small lake, Lake Plimsoll. [1]
