Anthony Ocana (born march 7th 1980 in the Dominican Republic) is a composer and guitarist. Ocana's musical style is hard to define. He composes mostly for guitar and percussion, but also for symphony orchestra and trios, and even other formats. His compositions range from neoclassic, folk, contemporary and Avant Garde. He is also known as a composer of songs and music for documentary films.
He has opened concerts for such musicians as Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Egberto Gismonti among many others. He has been awarded composition prizes such as the "Francisco Tarrega" in Spain and "Casa de Teatro" in the Dominican Republic. His music has been presented in the United States on national television, and he often plays in New York City. He has performed in theaters in the Dominican Republic and in Madrid.
It has been said that his music represents a unique form of composition.
