Anthony Murphy (born August 1, 1982 in Dublin) is an Irish professional football player who currently plays for Sligo Rovers in the FAI League of Ireland Premier Division.

Murphy is a right sided midfielder, who can also play as a full back. He originally played for noted schoolboy club Cherry Orchard and his performances there led to St Patrick's Athletic signing him prior to the 2003 summer season. A series of impressive displays in the season opening league cup showed great promise. However Murphy slipped down the pecking order at St. Pats and he left at the end of the season. He did however play in the League Cup final winning side as St Pats beat Longford Town in Richmond Park.

Murphy signed for Monaghan United of the first division and his performances there led to a move back to the Premier division with UCD. Once again he lasted only a year with his new club and re-joined St Pats before the start of the 2006 season. He has featured mainly as a full back and substitute so far in the 2006 season with his most notable skill being an extraordinarily long throw. January 2008 he was sold to Sligo Rovers.
