[edit] Career

Lloyd began his career as a trainee with Huddersfield Town, turning professional in August 2002. Lloyd made his league debut on 27 September 2003 in a 3-0 win at home to Leyton Orient and went on to make 42 league appearances for Huddersfield. He was a member of the 2004 promotion side, playing in the play-off final at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff as Huddersfield beat Mansfield Town on penalties after a goalless draw after extra-time.[1]

Lloyd joined Torquay United in November 2005 on loan,[2] and this was extended until the end of the season.[3] He helped Torquay to avoid relegation to the Conference,[citation needed] and was released by Huddersfield at the end of the season.

He joined York City in July 2006,[4] after turning down a new contract with Torquay.[5] Lloyd said he would relish having an exciting run in the FA Cup during the 2006-07 season with York City, after twice facing Birmingham City last season with Torquay United.[6] He was a member of the York side which narrowly missed out on promotion, losing to Morecambe in the play-offs. He was released by York on 16 May 2007.[7]

Following his release by York, Lloyd went on trial with Farsley Celtic and signed for them in July 2007.[8][9] He was employed by the club on a short-term, part-time basis and worked in a warehouse.[10] He rejoined York City in September 2007 after leaving Farsley Celtic.[11] He scored his first goal for York in the FA Trophy first round away to Altrincham, in a 3–1 victory.[12] He was released by York for a second time following the end of the 2007–08.[13]
