Anthony J. Desiderio, Sr. was born in 1901 near Naples, Italy. He came over to America in 1904 when he was only three. He had no money and started out with nothing. He decided to open his own paperboard business in Whippany, New Jersey called Whippany Paperboard, Inc.
The company thrived for many years taking in millions of dollars throughout the years. Although in the early 1980s they went out of business, they were one of the most successful paper distributing companies from 1920s-1980s.
