Anthony Campbell (judge)

Sir William Anthony Campbell, styled The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Campbell (b. 30 October 1936) is a Lord Justice of Appeal in Northern Ireland, a position he has held since 1998. On 4 April 2008 Lord Justice Campbell announced he would be retiring.[1]

Sir Anthony (son of Harold Campbell CBE) attended Campbell College, Belfast (of which he is now a governor) and Queen's College, Cambridge. He was called to the bar at Gray's Inn in 1960, of which he became an honourary bencher in 1995. In the same year he was called to the Inn of Court of Northern Ireald (of which he became a bencher in 1983). Sir Anthony was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1974 and went on to become a judge of the High Court of Justice (NI) from 1988-1998, becoming a Lord Justice of Appeal NI in 1998.

Sir Anthony enjoys sailing and is a member of the Royal Ulster Yacht Club.
