"Anthem Part Two" (or "Anthem, Pt. 2") is the first track on Take Off Your Pants and Jacket by Blink-182. It is the sequel to the song on Enema of the State. The song is about teenagers frustration at the higher powers of the world eg, politicians, teachers. The song did not get any single releases or criticism, although it did receive notable airplay, to the point, it charted at #9 on the Modern Rock Tracks, and a live music video recorded during their tour in Chicago 2001. The live version can be found on their self-titled album.

[edit] History

The song was written as sequel to a song on Enema of the State, "Anthem", possibly to intrigue buyers. It is a song surrounding the frustrated views harboured by many teenagers, the 'man' is out to get them. The song also featured on the film "Stick It."

[edit] Music video

The music video for "Anthem Part II" never had a significant amount of airplay, due to the fact it was not an official single. The video is not the studio version of the song, but a live version recorded at The Tweeter Center recorded in Chicago. The video contains clips of the band performing the song, and in and out clips of the band backstage. The video became available worldwide on iTunes recently. An audio version of the single is available as an extra track on the "Stay Together For the Kids" cd single. It should also be noted that the performance of the song is faster than the studio version.
