Antananarivo is a province of Madagascar with an area of 58,283 km². It has a population of 4,580,788 (July, 2001). Its capital is Antananarivo.
Except for Antsiranana, Antananarivo Province borders all of the country's other provinces:
- Mahajanga - north
- Toamasina - east
- Fianarantsoa - south
- Toliara - west
Antananarivo is the only landlocked province of Madagascar.
The President (PDS - Président de la Délégation Spéciale) of the province is Emile Rakotomalala.
