Antal Festetics

Antal Festetics (born 12.06.1937 Budapest,Hungary), is an Austrian biologist, zoologist and behavioural researcher. A student of Konrad Lorenz, since 1973 he is a university professor and director of the Institute for Hunting Biology at the University of Göttingen, since 1981 honorary professor at the University of Vienna. Since 1980 he is president of the Konrad-Lorenz-Gesellschaft für Umwelt und Verhaltenskunde. He was awarded for the establishment of national parks in Austria und Hungary, as well as the Austrian State Prize for Environmental Protection in 1988.
