António Manuel Viana Mendonça, or simply known as Mendonça (born 9 October 1982 in Luanda, Angola), is an Angolan football midfielder. He plays for C.F. Estrela da Amadora.
He is a member of the national team, and was called up to the 2006 World Cup and the African Cup of Nations 2006 in Egypt. He recently scored the game-winning goal against Benfica for the Portuguese Cup.
The gifted Angolan right foot midfielder was chosen the best player of the 2000 U-20 African Youth Championship. In his hometown, he was playing for club 1º de Agosto, one of the most popular in Angola.
Mendonca will live on in many hearts as one of the greatest talents ever seen with his ability to win games single handedly. Sadly like so many before him, he never reached the heights his rich talent deserved.
