ANTARA

ANTARA is the official news agency of the government of Indonesia. It was founded on December 13, 1937 by Adam Malik, Soemanang, AM Sipahoetar and Pandoe Kartawagoena. It became the country's news agency in 1962.

The ANTARA headquarter is located in Jakarta. It has bureaus in all provinces of Indonesia. The Sumatra branch was established by Djamaluddin Adinegoro.

Its overseas bureaus are in Cairo, Canberra, Kuala Lumpur, New York City and Sanaá. And also in Tokyo and Beijing.
