Ansatsuken

The Japanese term ansatsuken (暗殺拳, Murdering/Assassination Fist) is a generic term referring to any martial art created for assassination. The term "Ansatsuken" is used frequently in video game, manga, and anime series.

  • Hokuto Shinken from Fist of the North Star and Fist of the Blue Sky.
  • Nanto Seiken from Fist of the North Star.
  • The unnamed style used by Akuma, Ryu, and Ken in the Street Fighter fighting games; this martial art was referred as "Shotokan" in early English localizations of the series. It uses techniques from hard and soft karate styles, judo, jujitsu, and koppo to strike with murderous intent at opponents vital points, usually with closed fists or chops
  • Gen's martial arts Sō-ryū and Ki-ryū from the Street Fighter series. These arts borrows stances and techniques from various Chinese martial arts albeit having hand movements aimed at vital body points.
