Anoop Sharma Pem

Anoop Sharma Pem (born 9 August 1987) is an offensive midfielder for Mauritius National Football Team. He joined the football training club at the age of 14, playing for the Junior team only. His first senior international match was on the 18th January 2008 against Algeria National Football Team. He was the right winger playing with Jacques-Désiré Périatambée on the left wing. His free-kick fascinated a lot of people to the point where he was compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and surprisingly, the youngster strikes again in the second half with a long range shot. His two goals will however leave his team with a loss of 5-3. For the time being, he is one of the brightest future on the right wing of the Club M. He has currently refused numerous offers to international football clubs since he aspires to pursue his studies in Australia.
Current Status: After having sustained serious injuries in both knees after his first international match, he declared to the press that he might put an end to his professional career. Currently, he is having problems running long distances and having powerful shots. He has tried therapies to regain his form but it seems impossible, considering the extent of the injury. He might miss the match against Madagascar coming up at the end of March 2008.
