Anoka County Library… your community hub. We are a nimble organization working to provide a wealth of resources and experiences to enrich the lives of residents.

Anoka County Library, created in 1958, serves the information needs of 308,000 County residents. The library is a tax-supported service of Anoka County government. The County Library Board, consisting of seven citizen members, meets monthly to plan and operate the library. The system includes eight libraries:

  • Northtown Library
  • Rum River Library
  • Crooked Lake Branch
  • Centennial Branch
  • Johnsville Branch
  • Mississippi Branch
  • North Central Branch
  • St. Francis Branch

Two other libraries are also affiliated with the Anoka County Library:

  • Columbia Heights Public Library
  • Anoka County History Center Library

The library offers storytimes, public Internet access, free wireless Internet access, online subscription databases, books, magazines, compact discs, video materials, storytimes for children and their families, summer reading programs, mail-a-book for homebound users, a Friends group and volunteer opportunities.
