Ankstmusik

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ankstmusik is a Welsh independent record label formed in 1997 by Emyr Glyn Williams following the dissolution of the Ankst label. Relocating from Cardiff to Pentraeth on Anglesey, Ankstmusik continued (as the name suggests) pretty much where Ankst left off, releasing material by such bands as Llwybr Llaethog, Datblygu, Tystion, Ectogram, Infinity Chimps, Zabrinski, Geraint Jarman, Rheinallt H Rowlands, MC Mabon and Wendykurk.

In 2005 Ankstmusik branched out into film production, making the gritty bilingual feature Y Lleill which went on to win a BAFTA for best film at the 2005 Bafta Cymru awards as well as a number of other awards. Their latest film production Nobody Knows if it Ever Happened is a documentation of krautrock group Faust's 1996 gig at London's Garage venue.
