Anjad is located in the Narmada Valley, at 22.03° N 75.05° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 151 metres (495 feet).

As of 2001 India census,[2] Anjad had a population of 22,890. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Anjad has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
