Okay, seriously... Stop removing the stub tag from Anime South's wiki page until it has more information on it. All you have to do is add more information...more detail... You clearly know Anime South well, so why not add some information (and provide reference citations.) After that's done, then feel free to remove the stub tag...but don't remove it first. --PatrickD 14:48, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that you had put List of anime conventions up for deletion. Why? I find that you only did this due to an editing dispute because you are being told by a myriad of editors that you're disruptive. Can you please give me a reasoned explanation why you're going against other editors who are unlike yourself following the set policies set by Wikipedia? :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 15:29, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Instead of being silent on the issue, I'd appreciate a response. Thanks. :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 18:29, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in List of anime conventions. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 19:10, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Before you continue to defy guidelines, I ask that you participate in this before continuing further. Thank-you. :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 19:12, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Please explain why you continue to libel Muhammad Ali. The text you continue to keep adding back to the article will now be treated as vandalism. And vandalism gets you blocked if you don't cease. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 18:56, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Please refrain from adding content under this user user:Animesouth, user:Uucp and Special:Contributions/143.88.201.123. Doing so is considered in bad form since all of these users have added the same material time after time - WP:SOCK.
Welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. As a member of the Wikipedia community, I remind you of Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy for editors, which you appear to have violated at Muhammad Ali. You must not add negative statements to a biography without sourcing them. Thank you. Seicer (talk) (contribs) 20:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

I've blocked you for 48h for 3RR and use of sockpuppets William M. Connolley 09:50, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I have not used sock puppets and I am not in violation of 3RR. Also, how do John and Jaq get their accounts back? They're real people who are not happy to have their accounts locked out for eternity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Animesouth (talkcontribs)

Do not revert List of anime conventions again to remove most of the lead and to add Anime South to the list even though it doesn't meet the criteria for the list. If you wish to change the criteria, then do so by discussing it on the talk page first. --Farix (Talk) 20:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Seriously, if you are Marc Yu of Anime South, then you should definitely understand that Wikipedia is a consensus just like how Anime South is operated. Stop trying to against consensus here. :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 20:46, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Since you have participated in dispute regarding the criteria for List of anime conventions, your comments are requested for an RFC discussion. --Farix (Talk) 23:04, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AnimeSouth Deletion Review

While I hate to see anything that could be important deleted, I can't argue with all of Wikipedia. I can, however, create a better article that is not an advertisement. I will do this for you if you provide me with these listed items:

  • 2 Newspaper articles directly about the convention. I will want full text, and I'll verify them with EBSCO or any other engine I might have. Trivial mentions will not work. It's gotta be someone saying "I went to AnimeSouth, I saw people Cosplay, it looked fun, or whatever as long as it's in a reliable source."
  • Link to the AS website.
  • The convention must have had at least 2 events so far.
  • The first event must have had over 100 people, and the second over 500 for me to even consider writing an article.

These guidelines will help establish that the convention can be in Wikipedia. Although notability is little more than TRIVIAL, nobody can write an encyclopedia article without good second and several third party sources. Kopf1988 01:12, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Your contributions on Anime_South ARE problematic and in the past are justifiably viewed skeptically. I don't, however, see this as reason to delete the article. See the delete log for my details.RCHM 23:23, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Please send me some article that proves Anime South is important. Like, did it get in the newspaper? Did FansView.com review it? Etc. Kopf1988 00:59, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually, give me a couple weeks and I'll look into. I have something local important going on and it's keeping me busy. Kopf1988 01:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edit [1]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. -- John 13:58, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Because I corrected a misspelled word? You have me confused with someone else. Be sure of your facts next time before issuing warnings. -Animesouth 06:48, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
The word you corrected was 'corrupt'. Calling someone corrupt is defamatory and is against WP guidelines Wikipedia:Libel. You chose to make the libel clearer, rather than remove it. Given the previous warnings you have received I did not assume good intent. I have posted details on Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents - [2] for them to review. -- John (Daytona2 · talk) 10:52, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
  • If you ever see anything unsourced and defamatory, as that text was, then you must remove it. Remove it or source it to a reliable secondary source, those are the only options. Thanks, Guy (Help!) 11:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
    • I MUST not do anything. This spelling correction edit was a CONTRIBUTION, not a requirement.
  • Saw your post at the League of Copy-editors page. I'm not an admin or have any other "status" here, and generally don't get involved in disputes. But as a congenital copy-editor, I sometimes spot spelling, punctuation, and other errors almost without reading the content. This can actually help ensure that the copy-editor is NPOV and does not change the article's content in the course of correcting it. So, for whatever it's worth, I'm sympathetic. As you say, you did not *have* to do anything. You saw a misspelled word and you corrected it, in accordance with WP:Bold. It's very unfortunate that this incident turned out this way. Incidentally, I disagree that the word "corrupt" is automatically inappropriate for any article. "Jones charged that his opponent was corrupt." "In 2004, it was found that a corrupt file, foo.bar, led to a vulnerability..." "The crime organization used its profits to corrupt officials..." Context matters; very little is *automatically* banned. Regards, Unimaginative Username (talk) 04:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for retraction

You've obviously seen the AN/I report now, so hopefully you saw that I defended your actions there. I'd like to ask you now to, in an attempt to deescalate the situation, remove or strike through your last edit to Daytona2's page. I just don't see how that could possibly help anything. I think it's obvious that you were both acting with good intentions. It's a statement that should have been removed instead of fixed, but I definitely believe the warning was misplaced. Hopefully, this can be a case where both sides can just let it drop and everyone can get back to trying to improve the encyclopedia. --OnoremDil 16:40, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Anime South

Attendance 1,024 members
Official website

Anime South is an annual 3-day anime convention held in the city of Destin, Florida. [1] It is the only anime convention held within the region that encompasses Mississippi, southern Alabama, and northwest Florida. [2] The convention also has the distinction of being the first anime convention to garner its seed money from a small number of contributors who desired an anime convention in the area. [3] The monies provided by these fans, known as Founders of Anime South, totaled over $2,500 in value.

[edit] Programming

  • At least three video rooms that show anime and live action Japanese shows on front projection DLP projectors onto 7-foot or larger big screens. Some rooms have Dolby Digital audio. Fan-produced content including fan-parodies and anime music videos are also shown.
  • Panels and workshops on subjects such as voice acting, how to draw manga, how to properly wear a kimono, and other cultural subjects. Most panels and workshops (with the exception of voice acting) are run by fans.
  • Speed Dating – anime fans, segmented into age groups, get 3-minute “dates” with other anime fans.
  • [4]

  • A "Dealers Room" in which commercial vendors such as distributors and retailers set up booths and sell merchandise related to anime, manga, and the Japanese culture (such as clothing, music, and art).
  • "Artists Alley" – a set of tables located within the convention in which amateur artists display, advertise, and sell their own artwork.
  • A gaming room for console, arcade, and computer games, with tournaments scheduled throughout the weekend. This room is operated in conjunction with CRC Data Technologies.
  • A late-night rave dance.
  • "Anime Tractor Pull" (ATP) is an interactive panel where the audience is part of an act. The audience asks the actor who is running the panel a question about a particular anime. The actor then responds with any information he or she may have about the anime in question, with humorous commentary. It carries the tag of being run on "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday" to mock the commercials that advertise monster truck tractor pull shows. The panel was initially started in 1999 at Anime USA 2 and is now run exclusively at Anime South. It is considered part improv and part infotainment.
  • A craft-based cosplay contest and a skit-based cosplay contest. Many attendees spend most of the convention in costume as their favorite anime, manga, or video game character. A minority number of these costumers enter the craft contest and the skit-based cosplay contest, the latter of which is usually the most widely-attended convention event.
  • Opportunities to meet guests and collect autographs.
  • Anime South runs a full programming schedule beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, although the vast majority of the attendees do not appear until Friday afternoon.

Anime South maintains relationships with The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa and CRC Data Technologies. [edit] League of Copyeditors roll call

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there.
The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors.

When you say he was installed as a champion and when he went to TNA to be installed as a champion that is CLEARLY POV. Don't do it anymore. --Crash Underride 02:02, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, duely noted. But, your disagreement's wrong. It is PoV. --Crash Underride 02:19, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
No, it isn't. The WWE went to court to prove it wasn't a sport. When the "winner" is pre-determined, that is, by definition, an installment.
