[edit] AH-1 Cobra
And we would have known all this how?? Please use edit summaries to explain what you are doing. Without them, there is no way to tell a good edit from a bad one, especially when it happens repeatedly. In addition, it would be helpful to know the sources that you've consulted, so that we can cite with certainty what countries should be there, and take out any future countries that may be added that should not be there. Thanks. - BillCJ 06:38, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
By all means. I don't want to come off as nasty, Bill I'm truly tying to help you with these changes. Please note that in the Office Egpytian airforce website [[1]] No AH-1 cobras are list in inventory as well for Argentina Amry web site [[2]] Chilian Army has No Mentions in the Site as well. There may have been talk of these acquisitions but no such ever purchase happened. I get alot of info Airforces Monthly, Aviation Week & Space Techology, Rotor & Wing& StrategyWorld.com I was a former CFI in helicopter out of Van Nuys Airport, CA.
Bill can you Point the way to the Edit Summary?
- See Help:Edit summary. When you are editing a page, just below the main edit box, there is a box labeled "Edit summary". Add a brief description of your edit. In addition, if there is more information you feel should be added to explain your edits, you can use the article's talk page (the "discussion" tab at the top of the article. — ERcheck (talk) 12:43, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

- BTW, if you review AH-1 Cobra talk page, you will see that there is a reference for the use of this aircraft by the various countries, including Chile.
-
- "World Military Aircraft Inventory", Aerospace Source Book 2007, Aviation Week & Space Technology, January 15, 2007.
-
- I do not have access to this book, but the there it a discussion on the talk page, which is a good place to engage other editors who are also interested in this topic and on making sure that the information is accurate. — ERcheck (talk) 12:50, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

- No problem, AN. ANd thanks, ER, for the help. I went to bed after posting my comments, and got up and found the answers! THanks again.
- I have checked the source given for the onby a site that seems questionable to me. the Egyptian and CHiliean use seem more recent, but I haven't seen the primary sources myself. Hopefully we can get some interaction on the Cobra talk page, and get these sorted out soon. - BillCJ 15:56, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah unfortunetly AW&ST has an Inventory list that they recycled for about the last 5 years making only minor changes. I use several sources to confirm aircraft inventory. And the best is just the offical website of that countries arm forces, airforce etc.
[edit] CFI, eh?
Sorry, didn't realize you were a hard-core rotorhead...didn't mean to insult your intelligence. There's such a wide range of folks on here, some are truly enthusiastic but totally clueless. Where at VNY? You probably know some of the same folks I do. Are you familiar with Craig Dire and Blackwater (not the Iraqi guys!)? If you're ever on an XC for a $200 hamburger, and up here at KMHV, tower will park you next to my hangar...stop in and say hi! AKRadeckiSpeaketh 15:02, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Not Familiar with Blackwater, I'm of the Older crew Pacific Shore Aviation & Orbic Helicopters. If your buying (a $200.00 hambergr.) I'm flying. : )
PS I didn't mean to imply anything on my aviation interest, I know there are a lot of folks here who mean well, but just don't general knowledge....like they say "You've seen 1 airplane movie, you've seen them all"ANigg 04:46, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- If you haven't been to the "Voyager", the restaurant on the flightline at Mojave, then you need to come. They actually have what they call a "$100 Burger" on the menu there (tho not a $200...must have a thing against helo folks), so if do make it up here at lunch time on a week day when I'm not flying or up to my elbows in Bell 412, lunch is on me. Oh, since you're an old-timer, know Rob Dufau? AKRadeckiSpeaketh 13:32, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Rob dosen'nt ring a bell, but I knew guys like Kevin Walton, John Neilson, & Mario Fatigotti. And $100.00 Burger sound good, I'll hit you upon it the next time I'm there, in fact the first time I get there (Never been KMHV) By the way can you show me or instruct me on how to in put a pic? I would like to add a few for User:DREWNIGG/Copters in Pop Culture thanx ANigg 22:05, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AH-1Z Viper
Andrew, I don't think we need to split the VIper off the SuperCobra page. THere's a lot more commonality between the AH-1W and AH-1Z than there is between the UH-1N and UH-1Y. That said, if you want to do a page for the Viper, it's best to start it out on a sandbox, such as User:ANigg/AH-1Z Viper. Some of the other editors might not feel that it needs its own page just yet, so working on it first would be your best bet. Once you get it perfected there, I'll look at it for you, and help with any changes it may need. If I think it worth putting in the mainspace, I'll do that for you. I'll also ask Jeff (User: Fnlayson) for his advice, as he has been doing a lot of work on the Cobra pages. Don't worry if the page ends up not being created, as any new info can be incorporated into the SuperCobra page. Good luck! - BillCJ (talk) 19:10, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi ANigg, just a small question: if the AH-1Z Viper had been created for the USMC by AgustaWestland for example, would it still be an American aircraft? BTW, it looks about ready to go "live"! --Red Sunset 21:11, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Aviation accidents and incidents in Iraq War
Hi. Thanks for your new improvements to the article. Can you please always add some information of your actions in the summary box so we all have a track of the development of the article? Friendly, Magioladitis (talk) 09:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

For a great job in creating the AH-1Z Viper article. I especially like the amount of detail you put into the Development section and believe that will help the article grow nicely. --Born2flie (talk) 19:29, 27 February 2008 (UTC) |
[edit] Congratulations!
Andrew, it looks like you've had your first article translated! See this page on the Chinese Wiki. Of course, I can't read any of it, but the layout is similar enough anyway. - BillCJ (talk) 17:22, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of aviation accidents and incidents during the Iraq War
Thanks. The fact that the edit on April 29, one day... before the "incident" made me suspicious. Since, I didn't find any trace of this in BBC, CNN, etc. I reverted the edits. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:00, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
