[edit] Early comments
Yes, we are talking about non-human animals, that will be understood by all readers. The point that humans are animals can be made much more subtly than moving the entire article to something unwieldy.
I added a see also human-powered transport

[edit] This article should be "List of animals used for transport"...
My first reaction to this article was a deep disappointment that I could not read how, exactly, buffalo have been used for transport. Then I realized a more accurate title and context of this article would be if it were simply titled "List of animals used for transport". This isn't an article about "animal powered transport". [edit] Buffalo
Can someone please explain this: "buffalo (as distinct from bison)." American bison opens: "The American Bison (Bison bison), also called Buffalo, ...," which is a contradiction of this statement (or perhaps the statement in this article needs to be clarified). btm 04:23, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ostrich
Can it be added to the article? Or ain't it really used for transport? 189.5.143.155 02:27, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Requested move to "Animal-powered transport"
The page should be moved to animal-powered transport" (with the -). This so it aligns to other articles (Human-powered transport, ...)
