Anirban
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anirban is a male Hindu name used by Bengalis, one of the many sub-ethnic groups in India. It is generally used as a first name. In Sanskrit, "Anirban" means 'the flame that never burns out'. It is pronounced as "Aw-neer-baan". Virtually all of the people named 'Anirban' have their roots in the state of West Bengal, a state in the Eastern part of India. It is considered to be one of the top most used names in the state.
The antonym of this word is 'Nirban' meaning 'creation' or 'inauguration'. 'Nirban' is also a male name, although it is very rare, when compared to 'Anirban'.
There is no female variant of this name.
