Ani-Monday

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ani-Monday is a weekly programming block on the SCI FI Channel featuring anime. It runs on Mondays from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET/PT. Ani-Monday features a collection of movies, series, and shorts from Manga Entertainment, Starz Media's anime distribution arm, and is SCI FI's most recent move into anime programming: due to its popularity and demand.

Ani-Monday began on June 11, 2007. Typically Ani-Monday features two anime series back to back during its two hour block (two episodes of each show,) however, occasionally an anime movie is shown instead. After several weeks the block was expanded to air on both Monday and Tuesday nights at 11:00 and the name was changed to Anime on Sci-Fi. The expanded version of the block started airing on Monday, February 4, 2008. The expanded Tuesday block has since been replaced with other programming.

[edit] Shows

Ani-Monday features a variety of anime including both older and newer titles, some of which can have more adult themes (in keeping with its late timeslot.) All of the anime have a sci-fi element.
