{{unblock|I did not intentionally upload copyright images, I am new, I also have 10000 images and I forgot which ones I actually photographed myself, I intended to contribute to Wikipedia in a positive mannor. I will not let such recklessness on my part happen again, I would like to continue to be a member of Wikipedia}}--Angela2109 (talk) 03:06, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

I left a note with the blocking admin. Hopefully this will be resolved soon, but in the future remember to read those messages that get posted on your talk page, even the automated ones by bots. -- Ned Scott 04:28, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

As long as you understand that you can't just upload everything you take under PD licenses, and work to license your images properly in the future

Request handled by: Daniel Case (talk) 04:54, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

I would be happy to review any images you upload and help you with the licensing (I seem to be one of the few people really familiar with our image policy). Daniel Case (talk) 04:54, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation in Image:70dodge.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:70dodge.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:70dodge.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:70dodge.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. • I noticed even my properly uploaded images have all been removed from the pages I've edited in the past and deleted, I guess my ligitimit input was not usefull. Oh well, I tried to contribute in good faith.--Angela2109 (talk) 15:23, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
I understand that these deletions can be frustrating. But you're not leaving us with much of a choice. Since you incorrectly claimed copyright ownership on a large number of images, none of your uploads can be trusted as being indeed images for which you hold the copyright. Copyright violations are an important concern on Wikipedia, even more so for images because it's so easy for someone to just claim they hold the copyright. Basic caution forces administrator to delete all of your uploads. You're free to re-upload images that are really yours but I hope you understand that under the present circumstances, these will be very much scrutinized. Wait a minute. Shouldn't the burden of proof that the image(s) in question was/were copyrighted elsewhere be on the tagger. Is this policy now? We mass-delete someone's images just to punish them for an incorrect understanding of an arcane and counterintuitive policy? Someone who was blocked indefinitely without any warning? I have restored images of hers for which no explicit proof of copyright violation was provided, and given that she was doing this out of a poor understanding of a flawed policy (exactly the sort of thing I warned about back in late 2006), I think she's still entitled to some good faith. Delete the ones that were identified as copyvio from elsewhere, yes, but let the others stand until and unless someone can show that they're not hers. WP:BITE is rolling in its grave.
