Talk:Angry Anderson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyone know how tall (short) this guy is?

[edit] Angry

He's pretty short, maybe 5'5" or 5'6". I saw Rose Tattoo play a Brisbane gig in 1983. This was way before the tattoo craze of today. I still remember how incredibly loud and wild they were. The day after the gig, I ran into the band on the beach at Surfers Paradise. They were/are a sight to behold. (Tats from head to toe) proserpine Dec 19 2006.

[edit] A Current Affair Challenges

I remember when I was a little younger, there would occasionally be an A Current Affair special which would involve Angry Anderson leading an attempt to do something charitable (the one I recall most is where they built a large playground at a children's hospital). Does anyone have any hard information on this, and if so, would it be appropriate for this article? -- saberwyn 07:56, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Brief Google confirms my memory.
Angry Anderson's Landcare Challenge in 1995 (mentioned here).
An episode of Frontline "steals" the idea (Series 2 episode 6.
Little bit here (3rd para from bottom) on multiple challenges.
If some more reliable sources could be found, it would make a good section for the article. -- saberwyn 08:12, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

My 16-year friendship with Angry was born from his direct and very active involvement at my childhood "home", Sydney Childrens Hospital, and also with Starlight Childrens Foundation. I would love to see a section about the "Challege" that Angry did for the five Starlight kids in 1994 - one of whom I knew personally - Alexandra "Ali" Beckingham - who passed away in 2001 after one hell of a battle with cancer.
