[edit] Gay Icon Project

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 20:25, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] America's Next Top Model

I'am not sure but isn't she a guest on America's Next Top Model? --Numberonedad 18:27, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Police cycle?

I'm not sure what the point was, but the article's "Police Woman" link goes back to the disambig page, not the show, which seems pretty pointless to me... Trekphiler 11:07, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Biography

This biography sounds... creepy.

...she graduated from high school and became even sexier than ever, at only 15.

and another one...

...for being a cutie pie at a very young age...

blah blah blah. really weird, someone should fix this. riana 09:38, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I strongly agree that the material just quoted is at best silly and at worst downright inappropriate. And the entry contains more of that nature. I've removed it all. While I've heard a bit of bawdy gossip about Angie over the past 40 years, Wikipedia should not repeat that sort of thing. It is common for those who look as striking as she does to set tongues wagging, I suppose.
I've generally found Wikipedia a good source for show business (films, actors/actresses, singers, rock starts, etc.). So much so that I guess writing for Wikipedia is probably part of the publicist's job description, I suppose. This entry is a glaring exception. The sentences are too long, and the language is pompous. Many sentences are twisted pretzels. Others contain breathless superlatives mixed in with sloppily stated factual material. The problem is so bad that I downloaded the entry to my desktop and edited the thing in one fell swoop. I do not claim to be fully satisfied with the result; rather, I simply ran out of patience. Dickinson's publicist should give this entry a close reading, as I am not confident that everything asserted is a fact. The entry is probably too long, and the text often repeats info that is already in the filmography, or that is readily available thanks to a hot link.
My final 2 cents worth: Dickinson is not one of the great film actresses of our time. She is not in the same league as Shirley MacLane or Meryl Streep. She has not done stage work. Cerebral directors like Orson Welles or Woody Allen never begged her to work for them on the cheap. Howard Hawkes had her under contract but shed her. You get the picture. A sexy workhorse, but not one of the godesses.Concerned cynic 19:07, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
On reading this article, I thought it was written by a publicist. If you tried to edit it, I admire your determination. Either you left egregious passages in or they were re-inserted: "She was armed with a fine physique, great legs, deepset brown eyes that could read as either warmly receptive or aloofly dismissive. Her striking face, which photographed as oval from the front but angular in profile, resembled that of a Venusian goddess." ??? I'd say about three-fourths of this article should be cut - the subject doesn't come close to warranting such space, most of which is taken up by stuff along the Venusian goddess lines. (I wasn't aware Venus had goddesses - couldn't find it anywhere in Wikipedia.) I don't have the time or desire to edit it myself - I can't possibly separate fact from fiction, and frankly, it cannot be edited. The entry on Angie Dickinson must be entirely rewritten. Yes, what is wrong with this biography? The "Her striking face...resembled that of a Venusian goddess" part caught my eye, and that's not the only left-field bit of prose in this article. Can someone please edit this so it conforms to standards? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.5.199.225 (talk) 08:56, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] references

i think it might be a good idea to put a reference becuase She was mentioned on Golden Girls when a tv show host that one of the girls are dating is mister terrific a tv show superhero host for children when they go to se him while doing an episode he is saying whats hot in a part of the episode he says fire is hot, something else( iforgot what he said next) and angie dickinson is hot, and then says real funny mister producer.

"Known as Nikki, she committed suicide in January 2007.[1]" - The link to this citation doesn't seem to go anywhere. 59.101.5.25 11:03, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] references again

I'd like it to be noted that in an episode of "The Simpsons" Homer gets "hypnotised" to become Emily Dickinson, but mishears what he's told and screams "outta my way, I'm Angie Dickinson!!" Might be a fun pop culture reference for the fans.

[edit] thank you

knowing nothing about angie dickinson, i heard her name in a movie (passenger 57) and had to look her up.

this article has been extremely worthwhile.

thanks for the effort folks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.116.131.206 (talk) 08:31, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
