Solid blue: seven node/outlier countries of the Anglosphere:
- Australia = 15.3m (18.5m lingua franca)
- Canada = 18.6m
- Ireland = 3.7m
- New Zealand = 3.5m
- South Africa = 3.7m
- United Kingdom = 58.1m
- United States = 237.3m (267.0m lingua franca) (excluding Spanish‐speaking Puerto Rico)
and those with majority populations of mother‐tongue English speakers:
- Belize
- Guyana = 0.8m
- Jamaica = 2.5m
- Philippines
Shaded blue: countries/regions with significant percentages of second‐language English speakers, usually urban citizens employed in tourism, government, or international business, and countries with mandatory English foreign language education, including:
- Bangladesh = 3.4m
- India = 193.0m lingua franca
- Pakistan = 16.0m lingua franca
- Sri Lanka = 2.0m
