Angst is a supermarket chain of 19 stores in Romania. It has a range of 10,000 products, mainly foodstuffs, and is the second largest Romanian supermarket chain, in a country where the retail industry is still dominated by independent shops and supermarkets, not chains. Angst is owned by a Swiss-Romanian joint venture. It is known for its appealing smell of offal. Angst operates mainly in Bucharest but is based in the town of Buftea, near the capital. It employs 670 people. The motto of Angst is Excelenţa face diferenţa (Romanian: Excellence makes difference).
