Angry Salad was a pop rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Started at Brown University in 1993, they had a few radio hits in the late nineteen nineties like The Milkshake Song and a cover of 99 Red Balloons. Before their major label deal, they had 1 full length CD Bizarre Gardening Accident and 1 EP The Guinea Pig EP. Angry Salad had an enthusiastic New England following and filled local venues to capacity. They were known for their extensive crowd interaction.
In 2000 they secured a deal with Blackbird / Atlantic and re-released "Bizarre Gardening Accident" as a self title. The band started to tour in support of the album, but this quickly ended when Atlantic decided to axe many of its sublabels. Angry Salad was dropped and in lieu of standard Major Label contracts they lost rights to their name, music, and albums. Some members regrouped later as Star64 but later disbanded and went their separate ways.
