Angoulême International Comics Festival Hope Prize
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This Hope Prize (Prix du meilleur espoir) is awarded irregularly since 1974 to young comics authors at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
From 1974 to 1980, the award was called "Prix du meilleur espoir".
In 1981 the award is given for a specific comic instead of to an author and is called "Alfred de l'espoir".
From 1982 to 1988, the "Alfred Avenir" is again given to an author or artist, not to a specific comic.
In 1989, the name is again changed to "Alph'Art Avenir" and given to a specific comic.
In 1991, the award is once again given to an author instead of a comic.
After a break in 1994, the award is renamed "Graine de pro", "Seed of a professional", for the best artist or author without a professional publication yet.
Since 2003, a similar award for young talents is presented.
As is usual in Wikipedia, the winner is given first, with the nominees in alphabetical order next.
