The Angkasapuri building is prominently erected atop Bukit Putra, close to the Kerinchi stretch of the Federal Highway (Federal Route 2).

Angkasapuri is the main governmental building for Malaysia's Ministry of Information and it is also the headquarters for Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).

Construction began in 1966 and it was completed in 1968. The building was officially opened in 1968 by Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first prime minister.
