Angie Cruz is U.S. Dominican novelist who treats themes of home, displacement, and working class life in her work.

Cruz was born in Washington Heights, New York City. She often traveled back and forth between New York City and the Dominican Republic while growing up. She is currently a professor at Texas A&M University.

Cruz has published two novels and is now working on a screenplay for a movie version of Soledad.
