Angidi Chettiar

Angidi Verriah Chettiar is current Vice President of Mauritius from 2007. He previously hold the position from 1997 to 2002. He succeeded to the presidency in 2002 as acting president when Cassam Uteem resigned. However, also Chettiar resigned after refusing to sign a controversial anti-terrorism bill. He was succeeded in presidency by Supreme Court Justice Ariranga Pillay.
