Angelspit is a two-piece industrial rock band based in Sydney, Australia.
Formed in 2004 by ZooG and DestroyX, Angelspit has toured through Australia and New Zealand supporting bands such as KMFDM, Tankt, Ikon and Angel Theory. Angelspit has also remixed tracks from each of these groups.
After touring East Coast of the USA in Feb/March 07 supporting the Crüxshadows and Ayria, Angelspit are now based in Berlin Germany. They have played at festivals such as Wave Gotik Treffen (Germany), Castle Party (Poland) and Summer Darkness (Netherlands). Angelspit currently gigging thoughout European.
Their initial EP (Nurse Grenade) was released for free on the official Angelspit website, it contained a mix of sampling and distortion, a style which was refined in the independent release of their 2006 album, Krankhaus. Fans who purchased Krankhaus from the official Angelspit store received a letter from ZooG, thanking them for supporting Angelspit's album release, along with a badge of the 'red baron' (the logo for the Krankhaus album). Angelspit also participated in the latest Blue Moon gothic festival in Newtown, Sydney (Australia). Currently, yet temporarily, the band resides in Germany.
Their music combines unique and stylistic elements of horror, gothic, punk and electronic music as well as pop and metal and their work contains imagery revolving around medical experiments and grotesque societies.
The band have also recently released their first music video for Vena Cava, off their album Krankhaus.
In April 2008, they announced the title of their new album, Blood Death Ivory, on their website, with the promise of samples and cover art to come on May 1st.
On May 1st 2008 the cover art and one song entitled Skinny Little Bitch were released off the upcoming album Blood Death Ivory.
In June 2008 Angelspit will be touring Australia with Baal.
