Bloodshot (Angelo Mortalli) is a fictional Valiant Comics superhero in the Valiant Comics universe, created by legendary writer and former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Jim Shooter, Bob Layton, Kevin VanHook and Don Perlin. First appearing in Rai #0.
Mobster Angelo Mortalli was framed by the Carboni crime family, forcing him to become a witness for the state. While under Federal protection, Mortalli was betrayed by his protectors and sold to Hideyoshi Iwatsu to become a test subject for Project Rising Spirit. Mortalli's memories were erased and, through circulatory system replacement and augmentation, his bloodstream was replaced with billions of tiny computers called nanites. The nanites give him full control of his physical body and metabolic system. He can control his oxygen intake, adrenaline flow, healing etc. to maximise the capabilities of the human body. Because of this he has almost superhuman agility.
