Angela Park (born August 25, 1988) is a Brazilian professional golfer of Korean ancestry currently playing on the LPGA Tour.

[edit] Childhood
Park was born near the Iguassu Falls in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil to Korean parents who ran a business in Brazil. At the age of 8, she moved with her father and siblings to Southern California and spent the remainder of her childhood there. She states she has only been to Korea on vacation.[1]
[edit] Amateur career
Park was successful in the American Junior Golf Association, winning five times. In 29 events in four seasons, she posted 24 top-10 finishes. In 2005, she reached the semifinals of the USGA Women’s Amateur Championship, the premier amateur tournament for women golfers in the world.[1]

Park turned professional in April 2006, competing on the Futures Tour, where she competed in sixteen tournaments. She earned full playing privileges on the LPGA for 2007 at the December 2006 LPGA Qualifying Tournament and was named Rookie of the Year on the LPGA for 2007. Her best finish to date in an LPGA Tour event is a tie for 2nd in the 2007 U.S. Women's Open, where she held the lead after two rounds.[2]
