Angela Harris, Baroness Harris of Richmond

Angela Felicity Harris, Baron Harris of Richmond DL (born 4 January 1944) is a British Whip and currently Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Northern Ireland and for Home Office.
The daughter of Reverend G. H. Hamilton Richards and Eva Richards, she was educated at Canon Slade Grammar School in Bolton and at Ealing Hotel and Catering College. Harris is patron of Hospice Homecare in Northallerton and of the Royal British Legion. She is president of the National Association of Chaplains to the Police and since 1996 member of the Court of the University of York. Harris is also a Deputy Lieutenant.
Until 2002, she was Honorary Alderman of the North Yorkshire County Council and until 2004 Honorary Freeman of Richmond, North Yorkshire. On 6 August 1999, she was created a life peeras Baroness Harris of Richmond, of Richmond in the County of Yorkshire.
In 1976, she married secondly John Philip Roger Harris. She has one son by her first husband.
