Anemone chinensis is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. There it has the name bái tóu wēng[1] ().[2]

It has analgesic, antiinflammatory, antispasmodic, cardiotonic, hypnotic, and sedative properties.[2]
