[edit] The Humungous Image Tagging Project
Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)
Andrew: I've taken the liberty of creating a user page for you. This should not be taken as a hostile act; virtually every regular Wikipedia contributor has such a page. Feel free to add to the page (or not) as you wish. CJCurrie 20:34, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Wikinews logo
Hi Andrew,
After you had already voted, I posted an improved variation of the polar Wikinews "globe with waves" logo, which takes some of the constructive criticism that was offered to heart.
Please check out the improved variation on the logo runoff vote page (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikinews_logo_contest_voting/Runoff) (it's the last entry on the page with my vote) and if it meets with your approval, please move your vote to the new version.
Thanks for participating in the vote.
Regards,

[edit] Voting and accounts
I have a disagreement with the common practice of registered Wikipedian users in ignoring anonymous votes as a blanket decision. This is patently biased, and appears to violate the fairness rule that WikiPedia is supposed to use. That anon votes can be ignored is not at issue, that some admins always ignore them is an issue of fairness and openness. VfD is more prone to this sort of action than the other deletion pages. CfD for example, seems perfectly happy with anon votes. (Or atleast anons with significant edit histories). 132.205.15.43 20:58, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- It is not standard, it is merely default procedure. The regulations say that anon votes can be dismissed, but that the admin must be fair and impartial. Fairness and impartiality require that anon votes be considered on a case by case basis, otherwise, it will not be fair nor impartial. 132.205.15.43 01:29, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Just curious, is your start date also the date you created your account? 132.205.15.43 01:29, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Actually I meant, is the creation date listed for your page (presumably when you got your account, as most people create their page then), also the date which you started editting wikipedia. 3:132.205.15.43 4:132.205.15.43 02:22, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC) 5:02:22, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Template for "welcome to Wikipedia, please don't copyvio"
I noticed that you left a nice note on User talk:68.215.52.136 saying, in effect, "Welcome to Wikipedia, thanks for contributing, but we can't take copyrighted work." It looked like it came from a template. Which template was it? I'd like to start using it too. Thanks! FreplySpang (talk) 02:19, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
