[edit] Greetings

Welcome Andrew,

You have done a good job so far in Wikipedia (a.k.a. 'Pedia or WP). I can see that you're a serious Wikipedian interested in improving our project. If you stay for a while, you'll discovered that collectively, we're a cooperative and friendly community. We are all here to learn, and hopefully can give something back. If you have questions or doubts of any sort, do not hesitate to post them on the Village Pump, somebody will respond ASAP. Other helpful pages include:

Just keep in mind that while relevant discussions and constructive criticisms and are welcome, unproductive and/or destructive insults are not (see Wikiquette & Wikipedia:Neutral point of view).

Who knows? Perhaps you'll soon become a Wikipediholic and make it into the list of Wikipedia:Most active Wikipedians! :-) --Menchi 05:29, Aug 25, 2003 (UTC)
p.s. Simply type four tildes (~~~~), then you can sign you name and date like I just did with mine. And please always do so after your post in Talk/discussion pages and Village Pump.

[edit] Moving

Please don't create duplicate articles on the identical topic: George Town, Penang and Georgetown, Penang. If you know for certain that a new name is correct and necessary, please use "Move this page" link. That function preserves the previous data, as well as history, but with a new name.

I have temporarily deleted George Town, Penang after I moved what you wrote into its Talk. Please use the "Move this page" function to move Georgetown, Penang to George Town, Penang. Then, you can get whatever you want from its Talk. I understand that Wiki operation is unlike other websites, but I'm certain you'll get hang of it. :-)

If you have any question, drop me a note. --Menchi 05:29, Aug 25, 2003 (UTC)

You've successfully done the move. Great! Any further concerns or questions can be asked at Village Pump.

Again, welcome to our project! :-) --Menchi 05:58, Aug 25, 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Dato' Seri

Hi Andrew, thanks for adding the honorific to at the top of Anwar Ibrahim. I have a couple of questions about that:

  1. Should it also be added to Mahathir bin Mohamad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi?
  2. Does is belong in front of every Malay name?
  3. What is it comparable to in English? Mr, Sir, Reverend?

In the Wiki, we usually don't use those. Perhaps we could add a note on usage to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (names and titles).

All the best, -- Viajero 09:41, 24 Oct 2003 (UTC)
