[edit] AfD

Hi Andrew, got your note on my talk page. I actually have no ability to delete the article, I merely nominated it for deletion. Only someone who has not been involved in the AfD discussion can come in, interpret the various comments, and decide whether to delete or keep the article. Also that person has to be an administrator which I am not. I believe AfD debates usually run for 5 days, so hopefully this one will close in the next 48 hours or so. Once an admin comes up and closes the debate they will delete the article - assuming they decide that that's the consensus (and I agree with you that's probably what they will decide).

I hope you harbor no (or at least few!) hard feelings over the fact that I nominated the article for deletion - it was purely a matter of Wiki policy, certainly nothing personal. I myself wrote quite a bit of poetry in high school and college (sort of dropped the habit by my early 20s) but never took it to the level to which you have already taken it. Best of luck with your writing, and I definitely encourage you to stick around Wikipedia and continue to contribute as we need all of the smart editors we can get.--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 04:25, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

I'll second Bigtimepeace's comments. If you approach it properly, editing in Wikipedia can be a form of journalistic apprenticeship and practice which will stand you in good stead. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:36, 31 January 2008 (UTC) (professional writer since 1984)
