How do I change my username?
- WP:CHU explains the circumstances in which you can change your username, and allows you to place a request for username change. --ais523 18:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, the account User:Andrew does already exist but has never made any edits. That means that you can request to take over this accounnt if you post a request at WP:CHU/U following the instructions on that page. You'll need to notify Andrew and wait a week to see if the owner of that account objects before the request is done... WjBscribe 19:04, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging
Andrew, I noticed that you tagged a few images that meet the relevant criteria for speedy deletion. That's great! For future reference, however, note that speedy-image-c is not to be used on the image description pages, but in the captions of the images when they are included in articles. --Iamunknown 04:27, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

- Andrew I placed the {Hangon} on the article for you. In the future, the (Hangon) goes in the article not the talk page. Good Luck. Shoessss 16:33, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
HELPME|I've noticed a user called September911 (talk); I think it might be unsuitable. Would you agree? --Andrew4793 t c 17:40, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- The user has been indef blocked. You can report blatant username violations at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. — Scientizzle 17:50, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the vandalism reverts. One thing. When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use instead of test. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Inter16 18:14, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kurt Angle
It was a mistake; I noticed that you restored a vandal edit removed by another user; I reverted it and then reviewed the article history; I wanted to revert the rest of the vandalism, but you were faster. - Mike Rosoft 17:16, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion
You could try db-spam for spam-like pages. Wikipedia:Template messages/Deletion has more you can choose from. — Scientizzle 18:57, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vandals
If you have future problems with vandals that have received sufficient warning but continue to screw around, report them to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. An admin will check out the situation and act accordingly.
Also, if you run into usernames that you think are clear violations of our username policy, report them to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention. — Scientizzle 01:02, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:Parariot0.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Parariot1.jpg. The copy called Image:Parariot1.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 15:33, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Dfh.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Dfh.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:21, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Single articles
In accordance with Wikipedia:Piped link, please don't conceal or "pipe" links in a way that would be misleading to the reader, e.g. UK. Most readers would click the link expecting to be taken to the article on the United Kingdom, so they would find it surprising and not useful to be taken to the UK Singles Chart article. So it should either be, using the UK chart example, UK Singles Chart or UK. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 17:46, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Iycdiwyy;wcydi.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Iycdiwyy;wcydi.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 17:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Furniture (song)
A tag has been placed on Furniture (song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
