[edit] Irish stuff

Hey, Andrew! Great to see another Irish Wikipedian joining the fray. I see you've already discovered the notice board. If you want to help out with some current Irish-related projects, Zoney is leading the assault on the town stubs. Basically, many Irish town articles are comprised of mere stubs, and we're trying to improve them. Also, there's the Irish COTW. Note I am not handing out jobs! This is just if you feel like it. If you've any questions, feel free to ask me or anyone. Thanks. JOHN COLLISON | (Ludraman) 16:44, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Barrys

Hi, I've just noticed that we've both got articles on Barry's Tea - mine is here Barry's Tea, and yours is here Barrys. Would you mind if yours became a redirect to mine? Just asking, 'cause I've got a bit more detail in mine.. AndrewH 16:07, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Thats fine, fire ahead - anyways Barry's Tea is proably a more correct title - my concern when I named my article Barrys, instead of Barry's Tea was because I believe (I might be wrong though) that Barrys used to own the Bachaleors Beans company, and therefore was more than just a tea merchant... --CGorman 17:19, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] re: vfd

Yes, it is obvious vanity. There's mixed discussion on when to CSD and when to VFD. In this case, you are probably right, it should be CSD'ed because it is so obvious, however being an active contributor to VfD I tend to just tag it out of habit. :p Inter 12:43, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Note on this. Many others tend to tag obvious vanity for VfD instead of CSD'ing it. I suppose I'm more of an inclusionist, than deletionist (even though almost all my votes on VfD are deletions :>). This is no excuse in this case, as you are probably right. Cheers. Inter 12:48, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

"against my better judgement for a speedy delete" - aw, you should have listened to your better judgement! My finger was itching to speedy that mess ... - DavidWBrooks 16:43, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ahuizote

Hola Andrew.

Si tienes alguna inquietud, puedes escribirla aqui mismo. Agur!

[edit] Wikimedia UK/Wikimania 2006

Hi, this is a circular to Wikipedians in Ireland to draw your attention to Wikimedia UK, where the establishment of a local Wikimedia chapter for the United Kingdom (and possibly for the Republic of Ireland) is being discussed. See the talk page, as well as the mailing list; a meetup will take place to discuss matters in London in September, for anyone who can get there. On another topic, plans are being drawn up for a UK bid for Wikimania 2006, which would be conveniently close to Ireland. On the other hand, Dublin's bid was one of the final three last year - might we bid again? --Kwekubo 03:38, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Marlay Park

Seeing as you live close by Marlay Park and are an active Wikipedian, I would like to ask you to try to take a few new and better photos to augment the article I started a little while ago. Maybe a photo inside the house or of the kitchen garden or other distinctive features. Also a photo of one of the Marley street signs. Otherwise I shall have to wait until my next visit, who knows when. Reply here and I will see it. Cheers. ww2censor 18:25, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

I've already uploaded two photos of Marlay Park : [2] and [3] - I'll try to get over there and take some more when the weather gets a bit better.

Thanks, I saw the rear house view but, sorry, think it is rather a wide a shot for the article but I have added the waterfall shot. anything recreational would be good too. I do look at the Irish weather to see what my son and his wife are dealing with and see that it is cold, windy, raining and cloudy; so what's new for Ireland. Whenever you get a chance to go out again on a sunny day (!) would be great. ww2censor 16:06, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kkrieger screenshot 02.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Kkrieger screenshot 02.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:09, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
