Hello AndrewClark and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Hi Andrew welcome to W'pedia. In List of company name etymologies you have said Waitrose gets its name from the original founders: Mr. Wait, Mr. Rose and Mr. Taylor. However the Waitrose article doesn't make a mention of it. Moreover how is "Taylor" part of the name ? Jay 17:39, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism message
When I spot vandalism in recent changes, after fixing it, I usually leave a message/warning on the user's talk page. Since I only monitor anonymous users (meaning they're not logged in), it is possible that someone else was previously using your IP address. If you know you didn't vandalise any pages, you have nothing to worry about. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia. :) Nadavspi 14:49, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
