Thanks for uploading Image:Fritz memoriam.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Bisexual community

Hi there I see that you are working on various bi community things including (Bisexuality, Media portrayal of bisexuality + Fritz Klein). That's so great!

I want to make you aware that I am added Media portrayal of bisexuality to the Bisexual community category and I'm also going to add the LGBT rights box to that page too. You might want to go take a look at that page and see the various places things can be put into and also usefull pages for "also see". CyntWorkStuff 20:39, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, everyone has been trying to keep up with his illness and death, it happened so quickly! A note of his passing was actually posted on here BEFORE his family & partner had announced it and then had to be removed, and then put back after they OK' ed it. But he lived a long, happy and productive life.
Anyway just FYI when you write comments always end them with 4 tilda (the squiggly line thing). That automatically puts your name and the time you wrote things.
Also when you get a chance fill out your user page too so people know who you are. Later CyntWorkStuff 20:59, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
and new comments should be indented by using the colon character. Each one indents you another paragraph.
Also a quick aside, remove the snarky comments (however true). Bisexual people have VERY POWERFUL un-friends (even people who whatever the motives act as enemies) on Wikipedia. Just be polite, humble and make sure all is factual and properly cited, etc., or your stuff (& any and all reference to our community) will swiftly be erased
Go read my userpage comments and also my usertalk page to see what I mean. CyntWorkStuff 21:38, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] in re: Media portrayal of bisexuality

When you said this, "If this article developed to discuss information from The Celluloid Closet and The Bisexual Option, would it be considered more worthy of being a separate article?", what did you mean? I'm confused, (but then again I know little to nothing about film).

Also these are encyclopedia articles not discussons. Even sugesting that they are brings down the wrath of the Wikipedia Mods. Be careful and discrete in what you say.CyntWorkStuff 23:50, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

I'd say probably not and you shouldn't really suggest it. If you wouldn't find that type of article in say "The Encyclopedia Britannica" or the "World Book", (if they honestly covered the LGBT Communities instead of just straight people) then it shouldn't be in here.
Wikipedia is ONLY for scholarly research articles on a topic , NOT debates or "contast and compare". CyntWorkStuff 00:03, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
LOL . . .oh dear, I'm being too circumspect, by any chance are you on LJ or have AIM or go to "My preferences" page and please come & talk to me "off of Wikipedia". CyntWorkStuff 00:20, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Steve and Ghost

Hi. I was just responding to you about it, when an admin deleted the page. If you see WP:Fict it should make it clear what's happened and why. Cheers, Dweller 10:25, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Sorry I didn't notice your comment at Talk:Steve and Ghost. I changed it to a redirect per the above-captioned guideline, which says that characters shold be discussed on the page for the book/movie/video game they are a part of unless the volume of information warrants separate pages. In response to your question, Steve Finn could certainly have a redirect, but Ghost should not redirect to Lost Souls, for reasons you will see when you click on that link.

Don't worry if it seems like you don't know all the guidelines at first. there are a lot of them. just plod along and notice what other users are doing and try to learn as you go. We'll do our best not to bite you. Ask me if you need help with something. I'm not an admin, but I'll do what I can. Cheers and happy editing.--Kchase02 T 10:37, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

If you look at the disambiguation page for "Ghost", you'll see "your" Ghost referenced. Dweller 10:54, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

The LGBT studies WikiProject Newsletter!
Issue III - February 1, 2007

Announcement: If someone requests help or feedback on an article, please try your hardest to help them out if you are able. Thank you.

Project News
  • The LGBT Portal has once again been revamped and a work rota started. Efforts towards Featured Portal status are slowly coming together.
  • The assessment system has been a great success, we have tagged over 4000 articles! Please tag any LGBT related articles you come across by adding {{LGBTProject | class=}} to the talkpage. Please see the Assessment Department for how to assess an article according to the grading system.
  • The Translation department has changed its focus, to LGBT articles about non-English topics and people on which there may be more information on the relevant foreign Wikipedia. Please add your name if you are fluent in any language other than English.
  • Jumpaclass is picking up slowly, with nine people having entered. With over 2000 stubs we need to improve our article quality. Please sign up and get it going! Challenge another user to see how far you can jump a stub!
  • There is an ongoing discussion about the current LGBT categorisation system here, here, and a little bit here. A special page has now been set up here to deal with this.
  • A Watchlist has been set up to monitor controversial and/or highly vandalised articles. It can also be used for article disputes, just add a note explaining the nature of the dispute.
  • With the influx of so many active members, there is now enough support for a LGBT studies peer review, which may be found here. It's in the beta phase at the moment, so bear with us if we make any mistakes. Feel free to peer review any articles you have been working on.
  • It was agreed this month to start reducing the uses of the Notice board, as many members felt that it was not effective. An open tasks template has been created, bringing together important announcements, FAC/FARs, Peer reviews, XfDs, the COTM, and requested articles. You may desire to watchlist it. A Deletion sorting subpage is also now working to bring together XfDs - this should be bot-driven, but we have not currently tagged enough articles to make this fully automated, so please update the list with any LGBT-related XfDs you come across.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Youilove.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Youilove.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:28, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nigel Nicolson: Bisexual?

I've just deleted from the Nigel Nicolson Wikipedia entry the links that indicate he himself was bisexual, the first of which appear to have been added by you. Nigel Nicolson famously wrote about his bisexual parents, but do you know and can you cite evidence that he himself was bisexual? If so, those links could be restored, so long as some documentation of them is provided in the article itself. SocJan 13:33, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your note; glad you agree that Nigel Nicolson's name should be removed from that list. How about his brother's name, too? My judgment is that the mere fact that their mother reported having discussed with Ben some adolescent experimentation with other boys hardly justifies calling Ben a "bisexual writer". [edit] Bi Television Series????

Hi, Andral!

So I sorta have an issue with Category:Bisexuality-related television series. As far as I know, there are almost no TV series that deal with bisexuality in a significant way as a standalone issue. There are tons of TV shows and series that deal with the issue at some point in time, or with bi characters, but not as a specific focus of the series. For instance, there's no doubt in my mind that The L Word is a lesbian show. But a bisexual show? I know they deal with the issue - far more than Queer as Folk ever did. But that's not a central issue of the show.

Even Torchwood, where all the characters are sexy bisexual, it's not a central issue to the show.

Thoughts? -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 19:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

More on my talk page. Thanks!! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 05:43, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Andral! I've raised the category question on the wikiproject talk page, and added to the disagreement on Torchwood, and left a comment on The L Word.
It also occurred to me that it might seem like I'm being antagonistic. I hope I'm not - I totally appreciate your additions to the encyclopedia, and Category:Bisexuality-related literature is looking great! I just feel like the TV cat is too soon to split from the "parent" cat, and that some of the shows are incorrectly in it. So please don't feel like I'm hounding you, because I can sometimes be agressive =D Many thanks for your work, and happy editing! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 14:29, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Categories

Hi, Andral!

When you add a bisexual category to an article, would you make sure the article actually says something about bisexuality or sexuality? For instance, Drawing Blood doesn't say anything at all, which leads a reader to wonder why it's in the cat. Thanks much! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 21:57, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
